Storage

Biscuits: Annie’s treats are preserved with Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols). They are freshest within 3-4 months if they are stored properly. Please do not seal them in plastic baggies! We recommend leaving them in their original packaging or freezing them for longer storage. They can be frozen in the bag they come in and will taste wonderful when you need them again.

Muttkins: Muttkins are a fresh beef product with perishable 'beefy bits' remaining on the outside of the bone. We recommend providing the Muttkin to your pooch within 1-2 days of receipt. If you do not provide the Muttkin to your pooch upon receipt, or your pooch does not chew off the 'beefy bits' remaining on the outside of the bone, the Muttkin should be stored in the freezer for up to six months.

FAQs

Additional Muttkin Tips and Instructions:

  • Freezing the Muttkin between chew sessions will re-harden the marrow inside the bone to increase the challenge for your pooch during the next chew session.
  • Portion control - The beef bits on the outside and the marrow on the inside of the bone are high in oils and fats.  Dogs on low-fat diets should have chew session lengths limited to avoid digestive discomfort.
  • Reuse the bone - The Muttkin is made with the strongest bone in the cow.  After your pooch has cleaned out the marrow inside the bone, the bone is typically still in good condition.  Refill the bone with yogurt, pumpkin, peanut butter, or other tasty spread/puree, then freeze the bone to harden the filling for the next chew session.

Why are your treats hard? Our handcrafted treats are hard for two primary reasons.  Firstly, the biscuits have to be firm in order to make them into fun shapes; otherwise, for example, your hot doggie would be nothing but a crumbly mess by the time you receive it.  Secondly, we extract as much moisture as possible to extend the shelf life of the treats.

My dog does not like hard treats.  What do you recommend? We do have other options! If your pooch can still tolerate a bit of a crunch, we recommend purchasing a thinner, easier to break biscuit, such as our Small Biscuits.  The Yogurt Berry Bites are a soft, crumbly treat.  Another great option would be the Dehydrated Beef Lung.  This low fat, high protein treat has a consistency similar popcorn and will soften quickly with your pooch’s saliva.

Where do your treats ship from? Orders ship from Bangor, PA 18013

How long does it take to fulfill an order? Orders are typically fulfilled within 1-3 business days. Our treats are handmade and inventory is kept at a minimum for freshness. Fulfillment timing may exceed 3 business days during busy periods, such as following sales/promotions or before holidays.

How accurate is the delivery estimate at checkout? Delivery date estimates are provided by our shipping partners, UPS or USPS, and are not guaranteed delivery dates.

Who do I contact if my order is damaged or missing during shipment? We are not responsible for delays or errors in deliveries caused by our shipping partners. While we do our best to package orders carefully with cushioning newspaper or bubble wrap to prevent damage, breakage can occur during shipping. Dog treats are not indestructible – if they were, your pooch would be unable to digest them!

Claims for damage caused by the shipping carrier can be submitted to either:

UPS: https://www.ups.com/us/en/support/file-a-claim

USPS: https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm

Can you guarantee that my pooch will like the treat? Since no two pooches are exactly the same and dogs are unable to articulate what they do not like about a given treat, we are unable to offer a taste guarantee or other explicit or implied guarantee that your pet will consume the purchased item(s).

Annie's Pooch Pops has been continuously improving our treats since 1998.  The flavors that we sell today are those that have withstood the test of time and have passed the taste test of hundreds of thousands of pooches.

We encourage you to contact customerservice@anniespoochpops.com in advance of submitting an order should you have questions regarding factors such as smell, texture, etc that may impact your dog's interest in our treats and chews.
